Comrade Lennon & What Can I Say about Rene

two not very political songs
(by Informal)

Hence you may download an mp3 file of Comrade Lennon [approx. 4.64MB] or a wma file of the ditty [approx. 4.43MB] about that aigogamous but semperveridicous chap, and an mp3 file of What Can I Say about Rene [approx. 1.41MB] or a wma file of that [approx. 1.12MB], performed by Deadman Turner.
Both songs were written, recorded and produced by Informal on 23 February, 2006.
Comrade Lennon is sung to the same music as the song, The Devil Lives on My Street. I, Informal, was finally recording a version of Devil when I decided some people could perceive some political bias in my presenting a song about a former Premier but not singing about other political leaders; and, since I am as indolent as the corrupt catamites at the Electoral Office (who fail to act to stop the large number of candidates who yet release electoral advertisements which fail to comply with the terms of the Electoral Act, and who also neglect to prosecute those transgressors), I wrote some new words to the old tune, changed the arrangement slightly, and finished it within a few hours.
The words to the songs are below.

       Comrade Lennon
Comrade Lennon is a wonderful bloke who never ever tells a lie; occasionally lucripetously, a paradiastolic guy.
Lennon's made Tassy a glorious place: the best of all possible States. So what that he courts the crookedest sorts and always gives jobs to his mates?
I'd love to vote for that marvellous chap who has nought but good in his heart; for I see in him a shrine to St. Jim, paragon of virtue and art.
Lennon's the number one man: I'd vote for him if I could; he's great at funding his friends, and making politicians look good.
Very few know: he can kill with one look; he once had a goat for a wife; a lot of his time is spent fighting crime; he can bring dead pets back to life.
Comrade Lennon is an elegant dude when wearing his salmon-pink frocks; and, late in the night, he loves to delight the fishermen down at the docks.
Lennon's a beautiful man: I'd vote for him if I could; he does the best that he can at making other pollies look good.
Few are aware he leads tours through the bush dressed in a bright gabardine cloak, and once, years ago, all covered in snow, he married Bob Brown for a joke.
Comrade Lennon is a wonderful cove who very rarely winks an eye (though now and again the gruffest of men): he's a pachydermatous guy.
Lennon's the number one man: I'd vote for him if I could; he's great at paying his pals and making other pollies look good.
Lennon's a beautiful man: I'd vote for him if I could; he does the best that he can at making politicians look good.

What Can I Say about Rene
What can I say about Rene that has not been said before? He'll never deal with a Green: he'd far rather show him the door.
What can I say about Rene: a man with the wiles of a river horse [i.e., a hippopotamus (wherewith, I'm led to believe, it is quite sweet to be compared in a few parts of central Africa)]? Compared to others he's clean (though he gets his share of kickbacks, of course).
The best we can say about Rene: he's seldom seen.
